Mimetica is a drug discovery company built around a patented chemistry platform technology capable of generating small molecule drug mimetics of natural hormones and peptides.

Mimetica has successfully applied this technology to develop drug leads for a variety of G-protein coupled receptor (GPCRs) targets. Mimetica’s most advanced drug discovery program is focused on the development of novel mimetics of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH) for the treatment of excessive sebum production in subjects with acne and other skin conditions. These mimetics specifically target the melanocortin-5 receptor (MC5R).

Recently Mimetica initiated clinical development of MTC896, an MC5R antagonist, under an Investigational New Drug (IND) application with the United States (US) Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Mimetica is currently seeking interest from potential commercial partners, licensees or strategic investors to facilitate further development of MTC896.
